About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team dedicated to addressing the current disparity in mental health outcomes for the large and diverse population of Australians and New Zealanders who live outside urban centres. In this role, you will support the important work being undertaken to expand opportunities for aspiring psychiatrists to live, train and practice rurally, as well as optimising the support available for those who take up these opportunities. 

 

The position is part-time (0.5 FTE) and fixed-term until 31 March 2026. We offer flexibility in how hours are distributed across the fortnight and support remote working.

 

Key tasks in this role include:

  • Scheduling face-to-face or teleconference meetings and coordinating travel and catering.
  • Providing administrative support for committee/management group meetings, including preparing agendas, action lists, and minutes.
  • Preparing documentation resulting from meetings, such as letters, briefing papers, and reports.
  • Supporting project events and workshops by preparing materials and providing administrative assistance.
  • Preparing and distributing communications to stakeholders.
  • Establishing and maintaining office management systems, including filing systems, standard operating procedures, and databases.
  • Filing agreements, progress reports, financial records, meeting papers, and correspondence.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support to committees and working groups.
  • Competence with the MS Office suite and database software and understanding of teleconference and videoconference technologies.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in multidisciplinary settings, including evidence of clear and concise writing for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience within membership or nonprofit organisations is a plus, along with a passion for driving meaningful change in mental health care. 
  • A can-do mindset. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in education, healthcare is desirable.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or holds the right to work in Australia.  

Some of What’s on Offer: 

  • Salary range from $62,200-$74,600 inclusive of superannuation and leave loading.  
  • A monthly free paid day off for full-time staff, with pro rata benefits for part-time staff. 
  • Gender neutral 12 weeks paid parental leave for both primary and secondary care givers.
