The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking a Project Officer, Education to join its team within the Education Department.


This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and to contribute in a collaborative team, to the delivery of 2012 training program outcomes including administration, research, analysis, and implementation.


The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualification/s and be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, preferably with a health care background or extensive experience in a similar role in tertiary education. Experience in health or medical education would be an advantage
  • Proven project management skills including research, analysis, planning, organisational and time management
  • Proven capacity for innovative and strategic thinking in educational settings
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage time and resources efficiently and to deliver solutions on time and to specification
  • Established capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a team member and to undertake work independently and with supervision
  • Advanced organisational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, use initiative, establish priorities and work to tight or competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including evidence of clear and concise writing for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive, effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent information literacy with demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, databases and web
  • Knowledge or understanding of medical education and mental health environments
  • Willingness to travel interstate or to New Zealand and ability to attend occasional meetings at weekends or evenings.
