The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Officer, within the Education Department.

 

This position is responsible for:

  • Providing high level administrative support for the Committee for Specialist International Medical Graduate (IMG) Education the Substantial Comparability Assessment Review Panel (SCARP), the Partial Comparability Assessment Review Panel (PCARP) and other committees as determined;
  • Maintaining high level and accurate record management and data base administration
  • Administration of SIMGE Applications in line with the policies and guidelines
  • Coordinate and assist with the administrative processes for the Specialist Pathway and participate in administration of the application, assessment, supervision and record maintenance processes for Specialist IMGs on the pathway to Fellowship;
  • Provide timely and accurate information and advice regarding specialist assessment and pathways to clients and agencies.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualifications in administration or education and/or demonstrated experience in tertiary administration or student services, preferably in either a medical or educational environment. Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, plan, organise, establish priorities and to work to tight or competing deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise and work sensitively with individuals and groups with different perspectives, including clients with complex issues and produce briefing papers as necessary.
  • Experience in preparing agendas, recording minutes and executing action items.
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with individuals from varying backgrounds and cultures.
  • High level proficiency in using Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel and Outlook, and a working knowledge of databases.
  • A genuine commitment to providing high quality service aiming to exceed the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a team and also to work autonomously on specific tasks to achieve required outcomes.
  • An understanding of the particular attributes of membership-based organisations and the medical education sector.
  • Experience in the administration of workplace based assessment tools in a medical context would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of State and Commonwealth Regulations/Legislation and overseas qualifications is desirable.
