 A unique opportunity has now become available for an experienced Executive Assistant to join a small and dynamic team to contribute to policy and advocacy in mental health.


The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical speciality of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking an Executive Assistant to join the Membership & Events department. 


The Executive Assistant will provide a range of administrative and executive support for the RANZCP’s New Zealand National Office, and to enhance the operations and strategic position of the New Zealand National Office by working with the National Manager, New Zealand and the New Zealand National Committee.


The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications and will demonstrate:

  • Three to five years demonstrated experience in an executive administrative role
  • Relevant qualification in office administration or related field
  • Experience in the health/medical sector and/or membership organisation is highly desirable
  • An understanding of and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Demonstrated experience managing administrative functions of a small business unit
  • Demonstrated experience providing secretariat support to committees and senior committee members
  • Demonstrated experience researching issues using a variety of media, and preparing reports and briefing papers
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with all matters confidentially, professionally and respectfully with people at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, with a flexible approach to alter priorities and plans to meet changing demands
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a team and carry out duties with limited supervision
  • A commitment to the continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Full proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience in maintaining databases
