The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking to appoint a Project Officer, RANZCP Mentoring Program to join the Membership and Events Department on a part time, fixed term basis.


Reporting to the Manager, Membership Development, this position supports the RANZCP’s strategic priorities of meeting the needs and expectations of members through coordination of an annual Mentoring Program that will support the career development of trainees and early career psychiatrists.


A key focus of this role will be on developing and implementing the Mentoring Program, including supporting training and administration of the program, together with its evaluation and continuous improvement.


 The successful applicant will demonstrate: 

  • Minimum 3 years experience in project coordination and or administration role in a business or corporate environment
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, analysis, implementation, evaluation and reporting.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant or similar field
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in multidisciplinary settings, including evidence of clear and concise writing for a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, establish priorities, work to tight or competing deadlines and adapt to meet changing demands.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as a member of a team, balanced with the ability to initiate and progress work independently and in line with team objectives and priorities.
  • The ability to build relationships, work collaboratively, harmoniously and consultatively with other College staff, relevant committees and working group, and external agencies.
  • Genuine commitment to providing high quality service and exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of events organization.
  • Competence with the MS Office suite and database software.
  • Preparedness to work on some weekends and to travel interstate and to New Zealand.
  • Experience in a membership-based organization, working with volunteers or in the delivery of membership services.
