The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of Psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. 

 

An opportunity exists for an experienced Instructional Design and eLearning Coordinator to join the Education Department. The role will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying digital and online learning resources, continuing professional development and application support. In addition to educational design, the position focuses on capacity building that include supporting team members in further developing the technical skills needed for developing eLearning content.

 

The Instructional Design and eLearning Coordinator will also be responsible for working with subject matter experts, committees and RANZCP staff in identifying areas of need for online learning resources and their development, that support the RANZCP’s psychiatry training programs.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Postgraduate degree in Education, Information Technology, Interactive Media or related field with subsequent relevant experience in education/training OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully creating engaging and innovative eLearning content, assessments and platforms including any subsequent project planning, communications, change management and evaluation associated
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary eLearning systems and adult learning principles
  • Experience in using video and audio editing software
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and organisational staff and management at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and plan, and to meet rigid and conflicting demands and deadlines, along with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated capacity for analytical and conceptual thought in the development of new initiatives, in the diagnosis of problems and in providing innovative and practical solutions on a timely basis with a focus on providing quality service to members
  • Sound experience in preparation of management reports
  • Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work team, to accommodate and work well with different working styles and to work independently where required
  • Experience with working with Committees, Advisory Groups and Working Groups
  • Exposure to Committee management
  • Experience in educational instructional design for health professional audiences
