The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking to appoint an Administrative Officer, Faculties, Sections and Networks to join the Membership and Events Department.

 

This role will primarily be responsible to provide administration support to sub-specialty groups within the RANZCP (known as Faculties, Sections and Networks) and other representative member groups to facilitate their effective operation, and undertake activities to facilitate member engagement ensuring the needs and expectations of RANZCP members are being met.

 

 The successful applicant will demonstrate: 

  • Demonstrated administrative experience, preferably with experience providing administration support to boards or committees. Familiarity with membership services-based organisations or health or medical professionals would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interpret and present ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship management skills, and an ability to liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  •  A strong attention to detail, and experience in administrative systems.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills including the ability to show initiative, and take responsibility for a broad portfolio of tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills including the ability to plan, organize, set priorities and to meet competing deadlines, with flexibility to alter priorities to meet changing demands.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently with minimal supervision, and collaboratively within a team.
  • A commitment to providing high quality service aiming to exceed the expectations and requirements of stakeholders.
  • High level of understanding and skills in using relevant computer applications, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience in database software.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel interstate and overseas, and undertake occasional weekend and out-of-hours work as required.
