The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of Psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking to appoint an experienced Events Officer for our Education & Training team. 


This role is will contribute to the delivery of the OSCEs (face to face or AVOSCEs) and will be responsible for the preparation and oversight of logistics and events planning for the development and administration of the examinations. 


The position will be responsible for the provision of accurate and high-quality data and advice on the examination delivery, working closely with the members of the OSCE team, Manager Assessments, relevant committees, and internal/ external stakeholders.


This role has a specific focus to:

  • Provide accurate and timely information to stakeholders regarding examination preparations and enrolments.
  • Provide committee support for the OSCE meetings and liaise with the relevant stakeholders and Fellows.
  • Database management for the assessment requirements, examination details and data, and exam-related reporting.
  • Responsible for all events-related details for the exams, including sourcing and administration of exam venues, development of participants’ data, and preparation of relevant documentation.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and college regulations for examinations and contribute to any quality improvement processes and exam budget as required.
  • Organise domestic and overseas travel and accommodation arrangements for staff and Fellows in compliance with RANZCP policies and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate communications to the relevant stakeholders on application numbers, venue information, timetables, and any logistics changes.
  • Coordinate examination sites, registrations, training, catering, audiovisual, etc., to ensure smooth examination delivery.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Background in an examination and assessments environment or student administration, particularly in a tertiary setting.
    Demonstrated experience in events coordination.
    Well developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
    Excellent computer skills using MS Office programs, including Excel, and a sound understanding of databases.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, including planning, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines with an agile attitude to meet changing demands.
  • A genuine commitment to high-quality customer service and stakeholder management.
  • Willingness to work after hours and on weekends when required.
