The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of Psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. We currently have an opportunity for an Administrative Officer – Accounts Payable position available due to Maternity Leave.

 

The Administrative Officer – Accounts Payable is responsible for the preparation of payments to creditors for the supply of goods or services, reimbursement claims, to maintain supplier reconciliations and control of creditor accounts. 

 

The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Finance team and staff of the College to ensure payments are made in accordance with agreed payment terms and payments/reimbursements are approved in line with delegations of authority for the College.

  

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Process invoices/credit notes into the accounting system ensuring accuracy of recording of details, documents to meet College and legislative requirements
  • Prepare payments to creditors for supply of goods or services and ensure that payments are made in accordance with agreed payment terms and have been approved in line with delegations of authority
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable versus General Ledger monthly
  • Maintain supplier reconciliations
  • Assist with finance projects, as required
  • Assist and support other finance team staff, as required

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to build relationships; work collaboratively and consultatively within a small team environment, with other College staff, Senior Officers of the College and external agencies
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team
  • Proficient computer skills, experience with MS Office programs, including but not limited to: word- processing, email, preparation of tables and spreadsheets using excel
  • Excellent time management skills including the ability to plan, set priorities and to meet deadlines, with flexibility to alter priorities to meet changing demands
  • Experience in Microsoft Great Plain finance system
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or relevant business discipline and / or accounts payable experience.
