The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. A leader in the mental health sector, the College works to prepare medical specialists in the field of psychiatry, support and enhance clinical practice, advocate for people affected by mental illness and advise governments on mental health care. 

 

Position overview

 

In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Manager, Human Resources to drive the development and implementation of best practice strategic Human Resources initiatives aligned with the College's strategic and operational plans. Your contributions will be essential to maintaining and advancing our HR functions in support of the College's overarching objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide initial support for HR employee relations issues and offer guidance on policy interpretation.
  • Assist in developing business cases, proposals and reports for CEO and Board review and approval.
  • Coordinate compliance reporting, including annual WGEA reporting to ensure College adherence.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.
  • Manage the College COVID Return to Work Plan and related projects.
  • Oversee the Workplace Wellbeing Program, including flu shots, social programs, and health and education initiatives.
  • Coordinate quarterly information sessions for new employees. 
  • Manage and report on the College Performance Management Program.
  • Coordinate both internal and external training and development programs for College staff and Managers.
  • Provide support to the wider HR team when necessary. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, business or a related field are essential.
  • A minimum of four (4) years experience in a generalist HR role.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a corporate professional environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workplace legislative compliance.
  • Proficiency in managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle.
  • Highly proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
