Project Officer, Membership Development
Melbourne, CBD or Remote (work from anywhere in Australia)
  • Part-time position on a fixed-term basis (0.6 FTE, negotiable days) until March 2025.
  • CBD location with hybrid options or work remotely from anywhere in Australia.
  • The salary range on offer is the full time equivalent of $63, 000 – $78, 800 total package including Super and Leave Loading. This would be prorated at 0.6 FTE.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. A leader in the mental health sector, the College works to prepare medical specialists in the field of psychiatry, support and enhance clinical practice, advocate for people affected by mental illness and advise governments on mental health care. 

 

Position overview

In this position you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a diverse range of initiatives, projects and programs aligned with the RANZCP membership engagement strategy. Working closely with the Membership Engagement Committee (MEC), its sub-committees, and working groups, you'll proactively plan, coordinate, and deliver project outputs to meet the needs and expectations of our members. This role will have a particular focus on implementing the RANZCP Gender Equity Action Plan as well as projects for other member segments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting timely, responsive, and relevant initiatives for all membership segments.
  • Coordinating and implementing activities to boost member engagement, participation, and satisfaction.
  • Enhancing member awareness of RANZCP activities, services, and priorities through targeted information and marketing efforts.
  • Developing project-related resources and communications across various channels, including social media.
  • Creating member-focused content such as articles for newsletters, journals, and the RANZCP website.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and briefing papers for specific initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Manager, Membership Development, to manage project budgets effectively.
  • Conducting data gathering and analysis as needed.
  • Assisting in organising membership engagement events.
  • Performing general administrative tasks aligned with department objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, coordination, and administration skills.
  • Genuine commitment to providing high quality service and is dedicated to exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competence with the MS Office suite and database software.
  • Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen. Alternatively, they must possess a valid visa for the specified duration.
