The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is responsible for training, educating and representing psychiatrists in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. About the role

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 6 months. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high-level advice, support, and coordination for the New South Wales Branch Training Committee (BTC) and related College groups. The role also delivers high-level administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of the RANZCP Fellowship Program.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Branch Training Committee and associated external bodies, including scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing agendas, minutes, correspondence, and other documentation, and tracking action items in line with College policies, guidelines, and performance indicators.

  • Responding to training-related enquiries from the BTC, College members, and external stakeholders, offering advice on Fellowship Program policies and regulations or escalating queries as appropriate.

  • Preparing member communications related to BTC activities, such as briefing papers, communiques, newsletters, bulk emails, website content, and other publications, including NSW Branch communications, in line with College policies and procedures.

  • Supporting NSW training networks with the coordination of training program events and processes, including the selection process for each intake of trainees (in collaboration with the Health Education and Training Institute – HETI), supervisor accreditation and reaccreditation workshops, and mock essay examinations.

What you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or a minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably within tertiary education, training, or student administration.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (particularly Excel), and a solid understanding of databases.

  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.

  • High-level relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with committees and both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in membership-based or not-for-profit organisations is highly regarded, as is a genuine interest in contributing to improvements in mental healthcare.

  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or the legal right to work in Australia.

  • National Police Check before commencing employment.

  • A Total Remuneration Package (TRP) of up to $103,646 is on offer, inclusive of leave loading and 12% superannuation.
