The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is responsible for training, educating and representing psychiatrists in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. About the role

Tenure: Fixed-term contract (6 months full-time, with potential to extend for an additional 6 months)

Location: Melbourne, CBD (Hybrid)

This role is designed enhance and align coordination across core workstreams, member engagement, policy and advocacy, training coordination, stakeholder collaboration and administration, enhancing collaboration and strengthening the Branch’s influence and visibility within the Victorian mental health reform landscape.

 

The role has oversight of existing branch staff and serves as a key liaison with other College departments to ensure cohesive and impactful delivery of programs and initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the Branch Chair in external representation by coordinating strategic engagement with government, health services, training bodies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in strategic forums and policy processes, connecting College members with meaningful consultation and collaboration opportunities.
  • Act as the key liaison between Branch team and Branch Chair, ensuring clear communication, integration of activities, and efficient workflows.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the Branch Coordinator and Policy & Advocacy Advisor. 

What you'll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, policy, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross functional team, develop, and motivate staff, provide strategic direction, and ensure team performance aligns with organisational objectives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences and present complex information clearly.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or holds the right to work in Australia.

  • Salary up to $140,000 total remuneration package (TRP) inclusive of leave loading and 12% Super.
  • Hybrid working model: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home.
  • 37.5 hour work week and a paid day off each month for full-time employees.
