The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking a Coordinator to join its Office of the President and Chief Executive Officer (OPCEO) team.
In line with the strategic direction of the RANZCP, this role will work closely with the CEO, Manager of External Relations and relevant management and Branch staff to further develop the RANZCP’s relationships with government, non-government organisations and other key stakeholders, with the aim of optimising the RANZCP’s influence in the development of best practice mental health policy, services and workforce.
To be shortlisted for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with external stakeholders including governments.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government structures and processes.
Previous experience at coordinator level in a health or related organisation is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to research issues, formulate recommendations, implement decisions and review outcomes.
Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and to tight time lines.
Has the ability and experience to work with committees and individual members of committees.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policy development and analysis with specific expertise in health and social arenas.
Understanding of and/or experience in membership/not for profit medical organisations.
Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills as well as detailed minute taking.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of applications such as MS Word and MS Excel.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate Health, Social Science, Communications or other relevant discipline.
Confidence in dealing with senior executives (internal and external), committee members, Ministers and Members of Parliament.
Ability to undertake a wide range of tasks which include low level administration as well as more senior responsibilities.
